Money can be one of the most emotionally charged and painful areas of our lives. Whether you are a startup CEO, a struggling artist, a single parent, a recent graduate, or even a wealthy individual, money is often a source of suffering and a significant barrier to both physical and emotional freedom. No matter our background, we all face challenges and questions around money.
This program is designed to delve deep into questions and challenges like these, and many others that we face around money.
By examining our hidden beliefs and unconscious behavior patterns, and learning fundamental financial management skills, we can become more competent, mindful and mature in our relationship to money.

We at MindKind Institute believe strongly in the power and wisdom of mindfulness. Mindfulness takes us to the depth of our problems and reveals the root of our suffering.
This course goes deeper than just information about how to manage your money. It incorporates mindfulness techniques and deep interpersonal work that allows us to truly understand why we suffer around money, and then gives us tools and a lifelong practice to change our behaviors and our attitudes.
And in addition to getting training from our facilitators, you will explore these issues with people going through similar challenges, benefitting from their support and encouragement.
This course is based closely on George Kinder’s best-selling book and workshops called The Seven Stages of Money Maturity. We have chosen this work because of its proven ability to heal and educate, and because it is firmly rooted in mindfulness practices. We at the MindKind Institute have also done this work ourselves and have seen incredible healing and growth as a result.
How It Works
The course is four weeks long and participants are organized as a small group. The program takes place entirely online or over phone, and will take 15-20 min a day on average.
There are 3 main components to the course.
1. Daily Exercises and Practice
You will gain access to our private online learning platform. There, you will complete daily assigned exercises and readings that incorporate mindfulness practices, money competency exercises and other helpful techniques, and exchange feedback and insights with your peers and the facilitator.
2. Weekly Group Calls
You and your group will meet via group video calls for live coaching with our faculty members Home Nguyen and Peter Harriss. In these calls we will review the material and practices, answer questions, express challenges and practice what we learn together.
3. Group Support & Feedback
Through our group calls and the online platform, you will share insights, progress and personal feedback with one another throughout the week. This will provide encouragement and accountability between the weekly calls and foster a sense of community and shared progress.
