Today every media and reputable research publication, from trade magazines like HBR and Strategy+Business to worldwide periodicals like Time, Newsweek, and the New York Times, is talking about Mindfulness. With all this information available at fingertips, you may still be wondering, how does one begin to develop one's own practice to realize the many benefits ascribed to mindfulness?
Dr. Home Nguyen and our team at MindKind Institute invite you to join the 29-Day Mindful Leadership Mission, a program specifically tailored for Oath employees. Consider this as a personal development opportunity provided by Oath just for you!
This course can be taken remotely and will be held via an online learning platform and through live video conferences with Dr. Home Nguyen and other experienced co-facilitators.
Through this course you will:
Learn basics of mindfulness meditation, including scientific, theoretical and practical aspects
Begin to integrate and harmonize different aspects of your life
Identify sources of stress and release it through breath and body awareness
Reduce emotional reactivity and increase space for creativity to flow
Communicate more effectively with co-workers, friends and family
Cultivate a daily mindfulness and self-compassion practice
Why participate in this program?
It can be easy to feel stuck when working in a large organization. With different levels of leadership and hierarchy, it can be difficult to manage up or down and advocate for yourself. When you don't feel your voice is heard, it can be dis-empowering. This can inevitably lead to feelings of anxiety, mistrust and discouragement.
Even if you do not feel this way every single day, you are constantly experiencing a world characterized by ever-increasing volatility, competition, and uncertainty – both inside and outside the organization. You may be unconsciously living in constant doubt and worry, lacking a guiding philosophy or framework for managing the threats you cannot see: uncertainty, change, and inner conflict.
The program is designed for busy professionals who are seeking to grow their personal effectiveness and pursue growth opportunities in all areas of life. Mindfulness can be an excellent practice to improve self-awareness and leadership ability, while also providing other benefits including increased peace of mind, less emotional reactivity, more satisfaction and greater joy. By cultivating mindfulness, you will not just become a more effective professional and a better team member. You will be a happier one!
29 Minutes A Day for 29 Days
You’ll walk away with a range of useful techniques and make a strong start to building a daily mindfulness practice – one that will help you to become more centered, present, and grounded in your day-to-day life. We estimate about 29 minutes per day for meditation and reflection, and an extra one hour per week for readings and group discussion. There are additional opportunities for developing a more rigorous practice and greater learning for those who have the time and volition to go deeper. In general, you will benefit from the training and practice in proportion to your effort.
How it works:
1. Daily Exercises and Practice
You will gain access to our private online learning platform called "Dream See Do." You will practice daily guided meditations, read articles on contemplative practice, share your reflections, and gain specific insight on how mindfulness can benefit your moment-to-moment experience of work and life. You will get helpful feedback and insight from your peers, Dr. Home Nguyen, and other facilitators.
2. Weekly Group Calls
You and your group will meet via video calls for live discussion with Dr. Home Nguyen and other facilitators. In these calls we will review the material and practices, answer questions, express challenges and practice mindfulness together.
3. Group Support & Buddy System
Through group calls and the online platform, you will share insights, progress and personal feedback with one another throughout the weeks. Additionally, you will be paired with a "buddy" who will hold you accountable for your practice. These components will provide encouragement and accountability between the weekly calls and foster a sense of community and shared progress. You will not be alone in this work!
